Dementia doesn’t just effect the elderly – in fact in the UK, there are 42,000 people under the age of 65 living with dementia. It is expected that over time, 1 in 5 people will develop dementia.
Understanding a bit about dementia and how we deal with people with dementia in society at large will make a huge difference to those living with the dementia.
Kevin Smith, MD of care organisation, Right At Home, is a Dementia Friend Champion (authorised by the Alzheimer’s Society) and will give a short talk providing a very interesting insight into the disease.

Join us for our last cub meeting before the summer break. Come along on to network and listen to our guest speaker, Ralph Steen from Stag Geological.
We all take the ready supply of utilities for granted, but Ralph will provide a quick overview as to where the oil in your tank and the gas which heats your house come from. We will take a look at some real rocks from the North Sea and elsewhere and an introduction to the latest techniques and the engineering, which allows for the production from rocks which have been overlooked in the past.
With much talk in the news and across industry about of the future of energy supply, this will be a fascinating insight and talk from an international organsation based right here in the heart of Calleva Business Park.

Our guest speaker Katie Aldridge of the HR department, will be telling us about the governments proposed changes to worker status, which they communicated in December 2018, following the publication of the Taylor Report in 2017. This talk will be beneficial to both sole traders and employers as the reforms are likely to impact on businesses owners who engage contractors to fulfill tasks on a temporary basis.
